DR
FEELGOOD
COMPETITION
IS OVER!!!
[Dead line was midnight of Sept. 30st, 2001]
>> Finally we know, who is THE WINNER ! <<
![]()
Email from February 27, 2002:
We were pleased to receive so many good suggestions for the next cd, and we are still listening to all of them. Many thanks from all of us to everyone who sent in their ideass. We have used the time off the road to write and demo our own songs and Steve has a tape with 12 songs on it. We are in no hurry as we want the next project to be as good as possible.
See
you soon,
Kevin and the chaps
Update - October 16, 2002: (Below message also is published at Announcements & News page)
The band works on recordings for the album whenever time allows, they also started to carry around a 16-track portable digital studio on tour (which makes me dream of countless GigaBytes of 1st class live material :o)), nevertheless none of the suggested songs has been taped yet. No one knows when exactly the studio album will see the daylight. How good the BBC again took historical Feelgood material off their cellar racks (Down At The BBC - In Concert 1977-78), even a never before released treasure from an old recording session found its way onto CD (Finely Tuned). Both items shall be released this month. Food for the upcoming time of waiting for the follow-up of Chess Masters... Not just me looks forward to a Dr Feelgood CD of (re)fresh(ed) original and cover material. An idle wish: Hope they'll got it managed until my 40th birthday (next June). In the meantime I continue watching over the box full of Feelgood stuff which waits to get sent out to the winners of this competition...
Stay
patient, folks.
Gabi
Update - March 6, 2003:
We
are glad to finally being able to congratulate THE WINNER !
.
.
The year 2000 was a very good one for Dr Feelgood: The release of the great album Chess Masters, tours of Finland, Greece, Sweden, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Germany, Denmark, France and Belgium as well as odd UK shows before moving on to the very successful Naughty Rhythms Tour 2000 which started at the end of September and ran for 70 shows in 78 days!
The calender is full for most of 2001, a new album shall be released too. Reason enough to offer some CDs and Dr Feelgood Memorabilia to the fans - in a competition!THE TASK
Robert, Steve, Phil and Kevin plan to start the recordings for a new album in May 2001. Some original songs are written already, tracks from other artists shall be covered in the usual Feelgood style. That is where you come in:
Send an email with the name of one song you would like Dr Feelgood to cover on the upcoming album. The email must include your a.) full name, b.) complete address, c.) birthdate, d.) valid email address. (BEFORE SENDING EMAILS PLEASE READ THE RULES!!!)
Please add the original artists/band name, and - if possible - the composers name(s) and title of an album on which the song is released. From all the suggestions which are sent in via email until September* 30st, 2001 the Feelgoods themselves will chose the song(s) they want to cover at the new album.
[Originally the competition was planned to be closed end of April; after you required some more time to go through your record collections and also to give more people the chance to participate, six months have been added.]Winner will be the one who at first suggested the chosen song. Relevant are the date and time of the sent email. In the case the Feelgoods will use more than one of the suggested songs, we will have more than one 1st Prize winner too, of course.
THE PRIZES?
First of all, you can win the honour to be THE ONE who inspired the Feelgoods to play a song at the new album which you have suggested, that's really great, isn't it? - Just kidding... - Of course there is quite a lot of various Feelgood stuff to win! The band has signed some cds, promo photos and flyers, also I have decided it is a opportunity to add some of the stuff I have collected when being on tour with the boys. So here we go...
