Comments: 1976, the Apollo Glasgow, my first gig - Dr Feelgood supported
by the George Hatchet Band. I was 13, just starting to get into music.
I'm sure most people remember their first concert; being a bit unsure what
to expect, taking in the sights and sounds, and then feeling like this
is best thing ever. I think they must have done about 6 or 7 encores that
night. Nobody wanted them to stop! Lee growling into the mike, cigarrette
in hand and Wilkos' manic feet and incredible guitar sound. I've been to
god knows how many gigs since - all the punk bands and the new wavers,
and the big names like the Stones, Zeppelin at Knebworth etc but nothing
NOTHING compares to that first concert. I saw the Feelgoods many times
over the years, and was jolted when Lee died. Coming across your site was
a welcome accident and brought back a lot of great memories. I'm off to
look out my old albums and NME's etc, have a beer and turn the record player
up loud! Good luck to you and keep dishing out the medicine. Graeme

Comments: It will be great with a new Dr Feelgood studio album. I really
like the Chess songs and Chuck Berry is my favorite artist. On my homesite
I now have another rock news and I have include news about the new Dr Feelgood
album. I have all the old Feelgood album in my collection and "Chess
Masters" will be a great add to the other. Thank You very much Dr
Feelgood and welcome to the north of Sweden!

Comments: Wow!! What can I say I have spent the last two hours reading
every bit of info you have about my favourite band. I am shocked that "my
band" have a web page, I never realised they were quite so popular.
I call them my band becuase they used to practise in my front room, or
in the garden if they got too loud!
From a very young age I remember Lee singing to me, a song I never heard him sing at any concert and I have no idea of the origin. It was called "Hey, hey little Schoolgirl". If anyone knows of the song I would love to hear from you.
There is not much mention of Chris Fenwick/White on the site, does anyone know where he is now?
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, keep up the good work Gabi.
Regards, LIN xx

Comments: Private! I go back a long way with Dr Feelgood. As far
as School with Chris and Sparko. I still see them both from time to time.
I was also waiting at Lee & Shirleys house, for him to get back from
a gig, to redirect him to the hospital, the night Shirley gave birth to
Kelly. My only regret is that I did not see him for a few years before
he died.

Comments: This brought more than a lump to my throat. Unbelievably I didn't
discover the R'n'B of the Feelgoods until 1989 when they played the Uni
at Leicester. The abiding memories of Lee and the lads onstage (I was lucky
to do security for them not once but twice) will be with me forever. The
majic of the man and the music has been with me ever since. The passing
of Lee was untimely but the spirit in which they carried on was indeed
testament to all things Feelgood. Since the two gigs in Leicester I've
been privileged to see the Feelgoods in 1995 supporting Quo at the Cymbran
Festival, twice at the Brittania Inn, Plymouth and last year at the Waterfront,
St. Austell. Whilst not a hardcore fan like yourselves (total respect)
I am a devoted follower and wish the band and yourselves every sucess in
the future.

the band had another engagement - Would have liked them to have been on
stage longer.

Comments: 11.03.1999 SWE/Umea, Droskan I was there and I thank you for
the show (and the autographs!). My first contact with Feelgood was in 1978
(10 years old) when a friend played Down at the doctors. How could I resist?
I hope I don't offend someone, when I say that Chessmasters is one of the
best Feelgood records ever. Hope to see you soon / Mattias

Comments: More than 15 years ago, I attended a fantastic concert of Dr.Feelgood
in Berne. In terms of so long time, I was able to see Dr. Feelgood at a
Open Air concert again. Although Dr. Feelgood does play no more in the
same occupation, they heated up the public powerfully. It was beautiful
to hear the known songs again. All the more easy had it that subsequent
Status Quo to bring cooking the stadium. It was a super evening which brings
the memories of good old times...

Comments: I first saw the Feelgoods in East London (Walthamstow College
I think) in 1974 or 1975. They were on with Ian Dury (Kilburn and the High
Roads in those days). So you can imagine what a fantastic night that was.
I spoke to someone who offered to get me an autographed copy of their album,
but I was broke at the time. Do I regret that! I saw them on every opportunity
after that and no band, including the Stones and The Who has come close
to being as exciting.
