What are these "new" Feelgoods like.
Thursday,
14-Sep-00 07:28:56
I saw the
Feelgoods many many times in 76 at venues like Skindles Maidenhead, Friars
at Aylesbury. The first time I saw them was shortly after a godawful Stones
Gig at Earls Court. The contrast was total. Earls Court... big impersonal;
pub upper room small "in yer face". Stones ....couldn't give
a shit, felt like they wanted to be somewhere else... and they probably
did...
Feelgoods... committment..
The last time I saw them was at Guildford in 79 (the Gypie Mayo lineup)
supported by the Inmates.
I have followed Wilko and his various bands since then but have lost touch
completely with the beloved Feelgoods. The Naughty Rhythms tour is coming
to town soon. Should I make the effort to go and see them or will I be
disappointed? Should I be even trying to compare them with the original
Feelgoods? Are they more like a tribute band? Unless you know the history,
its hard to see the link with the original band.
Almost ditto Eddie and the Hot Rods... another fave from the live circuit
of 76/77.

Dr Feelgood Case Book - Best Of CD
Monday,
14-Aug-2000 16:19:24
Has anyone out there got a copy of Dr Feelgood's Case Book - Best of on CD. Mine has gone missing since the DJ at my wedding played violent love as my first dance. I think my father in law may of destroyed it in disgust when he heard the lyrics for the first time!! - I would very much like to replace it so if you know where I can get a copy please let me know. Ta.
Saw my first Dr Feelgood gig on Friday at the Rock & Blues Biker festival at Pentrich, and it was brilliant!! I'm a big Leveller's fan really, which is why I went to the festival, but the Feelgood's were excellent and I'm so glad to have had the chance to see them. I know quite a few of their tracks already as my friend's band cover a lot of them, but to hear them for real was much better. One of the best bands I've ever seen!

classic blues phrase
Thursday,
20-Jul-2000 01:00:14
This isn't exactly a band-related question... I am a big fan of old blues and pre-blues music and I have always wondered about the "matchbox on my clothes" line that I hear so frequently. Does anyone know what it means?

Many Feelgood supporters will I'm sure be interested to know that the original Pirates line up of Mick Green, Frank Farley and Johnny Spence will be continuing their unlikely comeback at The Borderline, off Charing Cross Road, on Friday 23 June. Tickets £10 from leading agencies. (STBF) This will be only the third gig by the band, following sell out performances at The Grey Horse Kingston and Dingwalls Camden, since the band split back in 1984. The band are also set to back Van Morrison on a high profile tribute CD to the legendary Sun label which also includes tracks by Paul McCartney with Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana, Mark Knopfler and The Who. We are currently doing a big makeover on our web site and would of course, given the affinity between the two bands, be pleased to establish links and shared info. etc. Cheers Bernard Futter T 020 8458 5192

The Refreshments
Wednesday, 29-Mar-2000 15:02:23
Boogiemen !
I assume you have heard about 'The Refreshments' from Sweden. They are a fantastic R'n'B band and had for a few years Billy Bremner (from Rockpile, not Leeds) on guitar. They have toured Scandinavia twice with Dave Edmunds, inluding Geraint Watkins on piano. They have backed up Steve Gibbons, Geraint Watkins, Graham Parker etc. Visit their web www.refreshments.nu and buy their CD's - they sound like Rockpile !
Go and get the Boogie !

Hi everyone
the new newsletter is just about printed so I will be sending them out
within the next week!! Big apologies to to all for the delay.
Greetings
from Tampere, Finland!
Dr.Feelgood was here in Tampere 25.01.00 at music pub called "Crazy
Horse". There were about 250 fans on the place, and feeling was quite
good! (as always on the finnish gigs...)
It's a funny thing that part of the audience are young people like: "Great gig, yes, this was the first time I saw Feelgood, I am positive surprised! And part of fans are QUITE old (I'm only 38). And opinion of the gig was: "It was normally Feelgood gig.. nothing special.."
By the way... I saw my first Dr. Feelgood gig in autumn 1975 at "TEKU" in Tampere. I was 13 and I wondering Wilko Johnsson's moving like "it's not possible to play guitar like that in the same time.. (YOU KNOW..) I was sure that the guitarplaying is coming from the tape..
WHEN YOU SAW DR.FEELGOOD FIRST TIME?
Greetings Kai "sneaking" Holm
I am missing

Hello Feelgood fans,
I was the
last week in Lyon and I had the chance to buy a magic bootleg album from
Feelgood. The name of this album is "They do it right", recorded
during the European Tour 99' The line up is with Pete Gage, Steve, Kevin
and Phil.
The sound is very perfect (similar of Live in London).
My problem: no date, no place.
Who can help me to know all the details about this CD.
If you like it, I bought three pieces. The price is FRF 120.00
Thanks for your kind cooperation.
Keep rockin' Sébastien (sorry my english is not perfect...)
For all the
swiss fans, the band will be in the Chat Noir, Carouge (Geneva) on the
30-mar-00
See you soon.
