Michael Michael !!! Since you have missed the best band in the land (indeed, world) since '79, how could you possibly know !! So we'll tell ya. Wilko is a grand fellow, but was not, songwriting apart, the Feelgoods main man - that was Brilleaux, no question. When the man passed on, he'd already hired two more cool guitar men, following Wilks and Gypie. Gordon Russell was a good choice, and still does great stuff with Sara in the "Two Timers" (saw 'em in Hastings just three nights ago), and Walwyn, S. is probably the most suitable Feelgood axe-man to carry on the title. I was amazed that ANYONE could fill Lee's shoes out front of the band, but I'm so glad Kevin drum and Phil the Bass decided to try and carry on the good work, and despite some slagging off from here and there, I thought Pete Gage was great as the front man, very close (though no Cigar perhaps) to The Guvnor in his approach to British Rythmn and Blues. Despite being from The North, Rob Kane seems to have got a grip on the job too. Reckon Brilleaux is up there now, tipping back an ethereal pint, and toasting the lads he got in to replace the Originals as doing OK, and making it happen. Go soon, don't hesitate, they still do the business.

I hadn't seen the Feelgoods since 76' until last night. I've got most of the CD's, watched Wilko plenty of times, but regret I haven't seen the Feelgoods until now. 1st it was a great fun evening. My wife really enjoyed it, particularly The Hamsters. I thought Dr Feelgood were far better, but why so many Wilko era songs? One would have done. Mad Man Blues was fantastic, as was the two (only) tracks from Chess Masters, I wish they'd done more like Nadine or The Walk. Having said that, they were very, very, good, and I can't wait to see them on their own early next year, hopefully The Rayners in Eastcote. In fact, very tempted to see the tour at High Wycombe 15th Nov, but don't know if I have the stamina, as its The Who the next two nights.
I'd say: Don't miss this tour; all the groups including Ottaway are great.

classic blues phrase

I think the phrase is "will a matchbox hold my clothes". It suggests that he ain't got much.

Dave, If the
number they played was Roxette this was shown on BBC2 last year as part
of the Sounds of the Seventies series. The BBC may have a video of this.
Hope this may help. J.F.
PS It has been shown since on one of the satelite channels so keep checking
the TV listings.

I thought the video clip was "She does it right" not "Roxette" like the other reply said. They faded it out before the end.

PLEASE DONT TOUCH: LYRICS

PLEASE DON'T
TOUCH
(Johnny Kidd)
JOHNNY KIDD & THE PIRATES
Don't you
touch me baby, 'cause I'm shakin' so much
Don't you touch me baby, 'cause I'm shakin' so much
Well there ain't no other woman that makes me feel this way
When she comes up close, well I just ain't a word to say
Please don't touch, I shake so much
Please don't touch, I shake so much
Don't you
touch me baby, 'cause I'm shakin' so much
Don't you touch me baby, 'cause I'm shakin' so much
Well I get so nervous when I see her eyes that shine
She looks right through me and the chills run down my spine
Please don't touch, I shake so much
Please don't touch, I shake so much
Well I don't
know why she got her claws in me
I wanna be a bachelor, fancy free
Running from the preacher, boy what a relief
I'm gonna spend my life shakin' like a leaf
Well remembering the first time her ruby lips brushes my cheek
I opened my mouth but the rest of me just wouldn't speak
Please don't touch, I shake so much
Please don't touch, I shake so much
Don't you
touch me baby, 'cause I'm shakin' so much
Don't you touch me baby, 'cause I'm shakin' so much
Oh baby don't you touch me now...

Dr. Feelgood fag papers
Sunday, 09-Apr-2000 03:12:59
Hi Jonathan,
I would say, there's a good chance it was no imagination of yours. Well,
I don't know if there have been given fag papers to the fans at the gigs
in those days but I know these papers have existed (just have a look at
the back cover shot of the "Let It Roll album". There's a huge
glass full of them...). Sparko some years ago gave one of the package to
me, maybe this is similar to the ones you think of...
Here it is:

Lyrics of Dr Feelgood

Hi Freddy,
I am surprised a bit you haven't checked the website for the lyrics... All lyrics you're searching are to find (in original language, of course) at DR FEELGOOD Songs & Lyrics.
Hope this
helps! FEEL GOOD!!

Videos

Hi Alan,
unfortunately there have been no offivial videos released of the Feelgood's
line-up with Pete. There's some private stuff around but no professional
material I think.

The Pirates

Surprised
and pleased to see Mick Green on Parky with Macca. I had to do a double
take with Ian Paice (I'm a drummer too) on the skins.
What a great version of 'Honey Hush'. Don't you just love the guitar leadbreak!
I've got the very rare Pirates 10 inch single with Peter Gunn and Honey
Hush on the B side. Is it worth anything I wonder? I would say priceless
!!
I will miss the gig in London due to o/seas travel. Could you email me
with any other Londonish gigs for the Pirates in future. haven't seen them
for years.
Thanks. Olly B

I'm travelling
over to London from Tokyo JUST for this gig. My friends said I was crazy
- if Mick got a bad flu the day before the show, it's all out! So what?
I WANT to see him playling with my eyes!!
See you there.
